Events Arthur's War: official launch and book signing

When Arthur Bancroft kissed Mirla goodbye, he could never have guessed the horrors that would follow. After surviving relentless enemy attacks at sea, HMAS Perth sank during the Battle of Sunda Strait. Arthur was captured and sent to endure the atrocity of the Burma-Thailand railway.

While a POW, Arthur risked his life to keep a secret diary written on paper scraps with stolen pencils. He was one of the few men to survive and return home to Australia. Even when the worst looked likely, Mirla never lost hope that he would come home.

Written with respected international author, John Harman, Arthur’s War is both painful and uplifting; a deeply personal memoir that is also the story of our nation’s courage and sacrifice during the Second World War.

Boffins is honoured to be able to bring you Arthur’s War and invites you to join Arthur, Mirla, their family and co-author John Harman at the official launch.

Boffins will have books available for purchase at the launch, and John Harman will be happy to sign your copy.
