The culinary extravaganza continues on Wednesday 7 October when revered Perth celebrity chef Kate Lamont, accompanied by photographer Frances Andrijich, will be signing copies of their new book Wine and Food. A delicious selection of Kate's culinary creations will be available for sampling.
To coincide with the annual Spring in the Valley celebrations, Perth's Boffins Bookshop is bringing Spring to the City. Commencing on Monday 5 October, five of Australia's leading chefs will appear at lunchtimes throughout the working week at Boffins. The week will feature four of WA's most celebrated local chefs - Jude Blereau, Emmanuel Mollois, Kate Lamont and Theo Kalogeracos - and the queen of Australian cooking, Stephanie Alexander. The culinary delights of each chef will be on show with samples of some of their signature dishes free to all who attend.
Kate Lamont lived in the Swan Valley for the first thirty years of her life. She discovered a passion for cooking while pursuing a career as a winemaker. In the mid-eighties, Kate and her sister, Fiona, opened a restaurant at Lamont’s Swan Valley winery. With an emphasis on fresh, simple food, the restaurant has proved an enduring success. In the mid-nineties, Kate and Fiona opened a Lamonts’ outlet in Perth focusing on fine produce, catering, takeout and hampers. The business also operates restaurants in Margaret River, East Perth and Cottesloe.
Frances Andrijich is a highly regarded Australian editorial photographer contributing to over twenty magazines, including Time, The Weekend Australian Magazine, The Bulletin, Australian Geographic and Vogue. In addition to assignments in Moscow and Indonesia, Frances has travelled throughout Australia photographing its people, events and landscapes. She has won numerous awards for her photography and has had seven books published, including: Being Australian, Margaret River and Perth. She has also held regular exhibitions of her photographs, including recent solo exhibitions in Split, Croatia, and at Brisbane’s Powerhouse.
